Mother-son duo empty bottle of wine after being stopped by security
A mother-son duo went on a binge drinking session at a high-speed rail station in Haikou, Hainan Province, yesterday after they were stopped from carrying a half-bottle white wine on to the train.
Liquor in bulk cannot be taken onto high-speed trains, according to regulations. Passengers can carry six unopened bottles. If the alcohol measures above 50 degrees, only two bottles are allowed.
The duo was stopped around 9am at the Haikou East Station after police found they had half-bottle white wine in their luggage.
The son said they had half of the wine at home during the spring festival, and that he wanted to keep the bottle because it was beautiful.
"It would have been a pity to throw it," he said.
The mother suggested finishing off the remaining wine and taking the empty bottle with them.
