DR Hans Troedsson, the World Health Organization's representative in China, said yesterday that his agency does not have details on the circumstances under which Mexican citizens had been quarantined in China.
But he said WHO recommends that all countries limit the spread of flu. "How each country implements quarantine measures depends on the context and must be in accordance with public health regulations and national laws," he said.
