Nature documentary film 'Born In China' to start global screening

THE acclaimed nature documentary film "Born In China" is expected to start its global screening in April next year.

The film which was released in China on August 12 made 66 million yuan at the box office, a record for a Chinese documentary film.

Directed by Chinese film maker Lu Chuan, the film impressed moviegoers with its visually stunning landscapes and heartwarming scenes about panda bear, golden monkey and snow leopard.

It is a co-production of SMG Pictures and Disneynature.

Producer of the film said that it is also the first time for a Chinese nature documentary film to hit cinemas across the world.

Critics said at a seminar today that the film about growth, love and family also managed to incorporate the essence of Chinese philosophy and culture.

"It is for the whole family," said Qin Wenjun, vice president of Shanghai Writers' Association.
