New China-designed suspended train enters test phase

A NEW China-designed suspended monorail train entered its testing phase recently in Qingdao, Shandong Province.

The train, produced by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co. Ltd, can run at a maximum speed of 70 kilometers per hour and will have the capacity to carry 300 to 510 passengers.

The new type of train has utilized aspects of technology used in China’s high-speed railway network to enhance its safety and on-board comfort. Scenic spots, mountainous areas and urban metropolises are believed to be the ideal places for these trains to run.
