New bus rules: No smoking, pets or spitting

BUS companies in Guangzhou in southern China's Guangdong Province will be fined 2,000 yuan (US$294) to 5,000 yuan for not offering air conditioning when the temperature rises above 26 degree Celsius.

According to the new rules, passengers will also be fined up to 200 yuan for carrying pets with them, Guangzhou Daily reported today.

Inflammable, poisonous, radioactive and oversized goods are forbidden on the buses.

Passengers will also face fines of between 20 yuan and 50 yuan for spitting, smoking and littering in the bus.
