Newborn girl abandoned along roadside greenery belt in Wuhan

A newborn girl was found abandoned in a roadside greenery belt with ants crawling all over her body yesterday in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, media reports said.

"I heard sounds like a kitten crying and took a look,” a witness surnamed Hu was quoted as saying. “Then I saw a little hand.”

Hu was among the first to find the baby, who also had a rash on her head, around 11am yesterday.

Several witnesses took care of the newborn girl until an ambulance arrived.

Police are still investigating the case, according to the reports.
