Ningbo tourism festival begins

Ningbo City’s two-month tourism festival started today.
"Every year we have more than 100 events and activities," said Chen Gang, deputy director of the Ningbo Tourism Administration.
One of the festival’s highlights is the international tourism exhibition from September 5 to 7. More than 180 companies and organizations will participate this year.
"We wish to use this exhibition to expedite the transformation of the tourism industry in Ningbo," Chen said. "We are also considering holding the exhibition twice next year, once in spring and again in autumn."
The administration said 1 million copies of its tourism guide would be distributed throughout the year in the city’s communities, hotels, scenic spots, highway service stations and more. The guide includes coupons for various attractions and hotels.
Tourists from nearby cities and provinces will also be able to get great deals by scanning the QR code.
October 18 is designated Citizen's Tourism Day. Most scenic spots will celebrate the day by offering discounts.
