No changes in policy
The National Health and Family Planning Commission has no timetable to allow all couples to have a second child.
Commission Director Li Bin said on the sidelines of the National People’s Congress that family planning is the nation’s basic policy, which can be adjusted but not shaken.
“We will enhance family planning work at the grassroot level and closely monitor population changes, follow new situations and new problems while adjusting and perfecting the population policies to realize a long-term sustainable development,” she said.
