No ratings seen for online games
CHINA will not rate game products with such things as parental warnings in the new regulation it is drafting for the online gaming industry, according to Zhang Xinjian, an official with the Ministry of Culture.
The regulation is expected to be ready by June, he told yesterday's Beijing News.
Zhang said the country will help domestic product development.
To prevent online addiction to the games, he suggested the governments recommend some "healthy" games to the young people rather than classify the games, which he said is impractical.
An industry standard on the online gaming development may also help in solving the problem, he added.
Zhang, a member of the ongoing annual session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing, responded to a proposal concerning online game and Net-cafe management put forward by another CPPCC member, Yan Qi, president of Taoranju Food Group.
