Nude porn Website's operators sent to prison
FIVE men who operated one of China's biggest nude webcam chat rooms have been sentenced to jail for up to six years for organizing live sex shows online.
One of the convicted, 28-year old Zheng Li, was once an owner of an Internet music Website which brought out two star singers. He shifted to the Internet webcam business in 2008 after his music enterprise stopped making money.
More than 30 million Internet users registered to the Website for live sex shows. Zheng's team earned more than 19 million yuan (US$2.8 million) from the new business.
Zheng was sentenced to six years in prison and fined 500,000 yuan in a district court in central China's Hubei Province.
Co-founder Dai Zeyan was sentenced to five and one-half years in prison and Liu Junson to five years, the Chutian Golden Newspaper reported.
Zhang Rong and He Jia were found guilty of recruiting young hostesses for the Website.
The Internet pornography ring caught police attention last April when its page views surged up to 730 million. Hubei police raided Zheng's company in January in Chongqing, arresting dozens of young women working scarcely clad in front of webcams. The police said most of the hostesses were university students.
Zheng's Website earned money from its registered members, The more the clients paid, the less the chat room hostesses wore in front of the webcam and the more explicit the performance became, the report said.
