Office workers not satisfied with their sex lives, survey finds

White-collar workers in China are the least satisfied about their sex life, according to a survey.

More than half of white-collar workers said they had sex less than once per month as 46.1 percent of respondents were single, according to the zhaopin.com survey of 9,272 office employees nationwide.

About a quarter of respondents said they had sex at least once a week in 2014.

A sub-index measuring sex life satisfaction was 1.64 out of 5, the lowest of the 11 categories.

Respondents said they were happiest about quality time with family. The sub-index was at 2.58, or higher than categories like health, reading and holidays.

As for work, people were happiest with their personal network with the sub-index at 3.02, followed by training and development, benefits, salaries, and promotion.

Meanwhile, more than 60 percent of respondents said they had no promotion opportunities due to a rigid company structure.

Overall, the survey found workers in smaller coastal cities to be generally happier about work and life than those in the largest cities like Shanghai and Beijing.

Office workers in Yantai City, Shandong Province, were the happiest in both life and work satisfaction. Shanghai ranked in ninth place in terms of life satisfaction and 14th for work.
