Officer sacked for personal use of police vehicle
A SENIOR police officer in central China has been fired after using a police vehicle to take his family on a holiday.
Police in Zhoukou City, Henan Province, confirmed the police vehicle belonged to Hebei Police Station of the city's Shenqiu County Public Security Bureau, today's Orient Today reported.
The police station's director Li Jinbang had used a police van to take his family to a hospital in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi Province, on July 14. During that trip, he also used the van to take his family to tourist attractions such as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Li was put in confinement for seven days and given a demerit record, according to the Shenqiu police. He was sacked as director of the police station.
Li was exposed after someone published three pictures online. The photos were dated July 18 and showed the police van, with four women and three men inside, near the pagoda area.
