Official hacks neighbor over illegal garage

A Party official in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province was detained for hacking a neighbor with a knife for quarreling with his mother over a garage, police said today.

Lu Jianbo, a publicity department official in the city's Dongxing Town, took out a knife from his car and hacked his neighbor surnamed Zang on Friday as she blamed his family for building a garage on public space.

Zang suffered a severed thumb and underwent a surgery, Jingjiang police said on its Weibo microblog.

Lu, 30, is the son of Lu Shenmin, deputy chief of Jingjiang Public Security Bureau. He was heard shouting, "We run the police bureau. It's no big deal to kill someone," witnesses told the media.
