AN official in central China’s Hunan Province is under investigation after a photo of him wearing a Louis Vuitton belt went viral online.
Weibo users lambasted Li Jianguo, general manager of the state-owned Rucheng County water and electricity company, and asked how he could afford such an extravagant accessory.
The outrage came to the attention of the local Party discipline watchdog, which responded by reviewing Li’s finances. It said it suspected Li had broken the law and violated Party regulations.
