Official investigated over photos with nude woman

A LAW enforcement official in southwest China's Chongqing City is being investigated after pictures showing him in uniform hugging a mostly nude woman were circulated online, authorities said yesterday.
Wu Hong, an official in Fuling District, is pictured with a young woman, with just a bath towel covering her rear end, sitting on his legs as he is wearing a black official uniform.
The district supervision administration confirmed Wu was the man in the pictures and launched an investigation, local news portal www.cqnews.net reported. At first, local authorities claimed the pictures were fabricated.
Wu was the latest Chongqing official caught up in online muckraking campaigns, seen as a potent weapon for fighting official corruption and abuse of power.
Lei Zhengfu, the city's Beibei District's Party Secretary, was sacked 13 days ago after he was seen in a 36-second video clip having sex with an 18-year-old woman in a hotel room.
Zhu Ruifeng, the whistleblower, said a police insider told him the woman was actually a "gift" sent to Lei by a businessman in the construction industry.
Lei was only one of six senior Chongqing officials who had been recorded in different sex videos he received from a police insider, Zhu told Oriental Morning Post.
It wasn't known whether Zhu posted the photos of Wu.
