Official killed in fracas

ELEVEN suspects have been seized over the fatal assault to an urban management official on Thursday in Suihua City, northeastern China's Heilongjiang Province.
Wang Haida, deputy Party secretary of Suihua's urban management department, was stabbed to death in front of his office building, the province's news Web portal dbw.cn reported yesterday.
Wang Haida, 32, was in a government vehicle leaving his office at 11:40am but blocked at the gate by a minivan.
Wang Haida's driver, Xing, and some other staffers tried to restore the traffic but had a verbal dispute and physical conflict with Wang Shuqing.
Wang Shuqing telephoned more than 10 people to help him, and they arrived, carrying knives and pick-hammers for a fight against Wang Haida and Xing.
Wang Haida died of a head injury despite emergency treatment, the Website said.
