Officials Punished After Lead Leak

ELEVEN government officials in a northwest China county have been punished after 615 children were poisoned by lead leaking from a smelter, the disciplinary supervising authority of Shaanxi Province's Baoji City said.
The officials, from Fengxiang County Committee of the Communist Party of China, Fengxiang government, Fengxiang environmental authority and Changqing Industrial Zone management committee, were not named, People.com.cn reported yesterday.
