Officials exposed
THE Party’s disciplinary watchdog said yesterday that 142 cases relating to breaches of the 8-point anti-bureaucracy and formalism guidelines were reported from April 14 to 18.
A total of 139 cases were uncovered in 24 provincial-level regions, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei Province and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
The other three cases were in the China National Petroleum Corporation, the country’s largest oil company, and the Aluminum Corporation of China.
On April 8, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection launched a new section on its website, inviting the public to report cases of corruption and misconduct. The site, www.ccdi.gov.cn, names officials who have breached guidelines every Monday.
The public is encouraged to expose officials who use public money for gift cards, travel and dining.
