Oil spill pollutes river and halts water supply in Yiyang
Water supply in Yiyang City, central China's Hunan Province was suspended today due to oil pollution in Zijiang River, its main water source.
A water supply backup system was put into use at 12am according to a local contingency plan, the Yiyang City government said in a statement.
The government has set up a special team to investigate the polluting incident. No details were available in the early afternoon.
