Oil tank blast causes casualties in Dalian

At least two people were injured and two others have been reported missing following oil residue tank blasts today in northeast China's Liaoning Province, firefighters said.

Two tanks containing residual diesel oil exploded around 2:20pm at a PetroChina outlet in the city of Dalian, triggering a fire, firefighters with the city said.

The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Dozens of fire trucks were mobilized and the fire was put out by 4pm Rescuers are searching the area for casualties.

The cause of the blast is under investigation.
