One dead, many injured in NE China restaurant explosion

ONE person died and many others were injured in a late yesterday explosion at a restaurant in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The blast went off at 11:45pm at a restaurant which was under renovation in a residential area in outer Dalian, witnesses said.
The explosion destroyed the restaurant's walls and broke the window panes in dozens of homes in a residential building 50 meters away. Several cars parked outside the restaurant were also damaged.
Police said the cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
The victims have not been identified.
