A NEW base from which to release giant pandas into the wild will be ready to begin operations “by the end of the winter,” officials said yesterday. The facility, in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, has been set up inside the Daxiangling Nature Reserve in Ya’an. The base has been under construction since the end of 2014.
