Parents accuse school after boy dies in nap
PARENTS are blaming a kindergarten in Dexing, Jiangxi Province for being indifferent and reluctant to help investigate the death of their four-year-old son who died mysteriously in nap.
Mother Chu Qingqing said kindergarten leader shunned their questions why their son was found dead on a blood-stained pillow with his socks taken off at 2:30pm in the kindergarten, Guangdong-based New Express reported today.
Chu said they rushed to Dexing Copper Mine Kindergarten on January 12 after receiving a phone call from a teacher, saying the boy was in danger. A medical worker said the boy had been breathless for at least five minutes and his chance of survival was slim before rushing the boy to hospital.
The boy died after treatment failed. The parents refused an autopsy and placed the body in the kindergarten hall to show their anger.
The boy's teacher surnamed Yang said the child vomited after lunch, but she took no action and she refused to accept interview.
What enraged the parents further was attitude of the kindergarten authorities. Chu said a dozen security guards were called in to prevent them from checking the kindergarten's conditions after their boy's death.
However, a kindergarten spokesman said they had showed the couple enough respect and the couple gathered some 30 people to demand a large amount of compensation. Some even threw stones at the windows and disrupted the kindergarten's daily operation.
The kindergarten said the couple's compensation demand was unreasonable and was leaving the case to court to settle.
