Party boss 'admits killing mistress'
A FORMER district Party chief in Wenzhou City confessed that he killed his mistress after he was arrested in an investigation of a missing female official.
The missing woman Shao Huiling, 33, was the lover of Xie Zaixing, the arrested Party boss of Wenzhou's Ouhai District, for more than seven years and everybody knew about it, an anonymous insider told China News Service today.
Xie allegedly told police during investigation that he killed Shao because he fell in love with another mistress and Shao wanted to stop them. He said Shao's body was thrown into the sea near Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province.
Police said they were trying to find her remains along coastal waters. Shao has been missing since last November. The police did not reveal more details of the case.
The 48-year old district chief met his mistress during his tenure as deputy Party chief in Sanmen county of Wenzhou. Xie helped Shao to get a job in the provincial capital Hangzhou and frequently visited her, China News Service reported.
A leader in Ouhai District said Xie always spent his weekends alone in Hangzhou city where Shao lived.
Xie was sacked and expelled from the local committee of the National People's Congress on Tuesday.
Police said Xie might be involved with other economic crimes while a letter from a whistle blower said he was also involved in illegal land transactions and selling official posts for bribes. Local police said they were still investigating
