Passengers and foreign doctors come to aid as woman faints on Metro

CHINESE and foreign doctors joined hands to help a Metro commuter who fainted in the station on Thursday morning.

The woman fainted at the People's Square Station at 9am, and a few Line 8 commuters stepped up to offer help. Among them were two foreign passengers, who were doctors.

According to a witness, the male foreigner put on a pair of medical gloves, bolstered the fainted woman's head up with her bag and did some checking. A young Chinese woman commuter  stepped up to serve as an interpreter.

Another Chinese passenger, this one a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor, joined the rescue. According to the witness, the Chinese doctor gave a simple massage for the woman to help her wake up when police and an ambulance were called.

The woman returned to consciousness when the ambulance arrived. She refused to get into the emergency vehicle, saying she was feeling all right, and left the station on her own.

Metro police said both the foreigners were tourists who did not leave their contact information after the incident.
