Passer-by stabbed to death as he tries to stop knife attack
A man stabbed a passer-by to death as the victim was trying to hold him back from fighting two mobile phone deals in Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province.
The 29-year-old killer surnamed Feng mistook the victim surnamed Li as one of the same gang who sold him a fake product because Li tried to stop him from attacking the two vendors with a knife, police said.
Enraged by Li's blocking, Feng began to vent his anger on Li and stabbed him in the thigh, severing a major artery and caused Li to bleed to death on February 28, the local Dahe News reported.
According to police investigation, Li was just a passer-by who did not know the two vendors.
Feng has been detained and is waiting for criminal charges. Police said it will take some time to determine Li's act of heroism, the report said.
