Patrol guard bullies migrant couple and rapes wife
A drunk patrol guard armed with a police baton broke into a couple's house in a residential community in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, molested and raped the wife for nearly an hour before her scared husband called the police.
The guard, Yang Xili, a native of Anhui Province, was caught by arriving police and admitted to his crime, the Nanfang Daily reported today.
The 29-year-old victim was in a state of delirium and didn't eat and drink for 15 days after the rape on October 23. She attempted to cut her wrist in suicide but was stopped by her husband, a short and frail migrant worker also from Anhui, the report said.
The 31-year-old husband said they had been bullied by Yang before but he dared not fight him because Yang was much taller and stronger. He was afraid that if he died fighting the thug, his wife, mother and four children would have lost the support. But he was scolded by his wife and mother for being a coward.
The wife was sent to a hospital to treat wounds suffered while resisting the rapist. But hours later, the husband brought her home because they couldn't afford the bills, the report said.
Police are still investigating the case.
