Permanent residency to be made easier

CHINA is to simplify the procedure for expats to acquire permanent resident status as part of the country's efforts to attract foreign talent, the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security said.
Permanent residency policies are crucial for the introduction and retention of foreign talent, it said. The threshold for permanent residency was too high, procedures too complicated, and incentives unclear.
It said a document being prepared in conjunction with the police "has basically taken shape" and would be released soon.
