Phone maker sued over TV show recruitment
A domestic smart phone maker was brought to a Beijing court after it refused to recruit a man as promised in a job-seeking TV reality show, the Beijing Morning Post reported today. .
The job hunter surnamed Guo took part in "Going to Win", the reality show operated by a southeast China TV Station, and won an offer with annual salary up to 200,000 yuan (US$31,400) provided by Xiaomi Technology Co, manufacture of the popular handset "Xiaomi Phone."
But the Beijing-based start-up ate its words after Guo resigned from his former company, the newspaper reported.
Jobless, Guo filed a lawsuit against Xiaomi in Haidian District People's Court, demanding a total of 55,580 yuan compensation.
The company hasn't made any response yet, the paper said.
