Plane skids off wet runway while landing in Changzhi

A China Eastern Airlines flight skidded off the runway while landing today at Changzhi Wangcun Airport in Changzhi city, Shanxi Province.

The airline said the incident occurred when flight MU 2487 from Wuhan landed in the rain at 9:53am. The plane slid off the runway although all crew and passengers were unharmed, the airline said. It added there was no damage to the ERJ-145 aircraft.

China Eastern said it was still investigating the incident.

On June 7, 2013, an ERJ-145 plane overran the runway at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport due to improper crosswind correction.
