Plans to rescue vagrant kids

POLICE will launch a crackdown on adults who have forced children to lead a vagrant life, beg, or commit crimes, said the Ministry of Public Security on Saturday.

Some handicapped or underaged people, who have been kidnapped or beguiled by criminals, have become vagrants and beggars or have been forced to conduct criminal activities, the ministry said.

Police will carry out the campaign to protect the rights of these young people and liberate children who have been forced to commit crimes.

All these liberated young vagrants will be sent back to their homes, but those whose parents are not able to be found will be settled by the civil affairs departments.

People who have tricked, organized or controlled underaged vagrants, beggars and outlaws will be punished.

Over 1,100 smuggling cases involving women and children have been uncovered and over 1,500 people rescued from the hands of kidnappers since the police launched a nationwide campaign to crack down on such crimes in April.
