Police break up sex cult

AN organization advocating sexual liberation and group sex has been broken up by police in the southeastern city of Xiamen.

Some women persuaded to join by Chen Keyong even brought teenage girls to his training courses, Xiamen police said.

Police received tip-offs that Chen, 54, lived together with some of his women followers and held group sex activities with them.

Those believers, all of whom had jobs before, gave up their careers and even family life to follow Chen's "green land health community" and paid Chen for training courses.

A two-day training course usually cost 2,500 yuan (US$368) while a session of 21 days was priced at 18,000 yuan.

According to police, Chen's training was mainly to advocate free sex or group sexual activities plus other activities including meditation and wild dancing.

Chen claimed that he was a disciple of Osho or Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, a well-known Indian cult leader whose teachings earned him the sobriquet "sex guru."
