Police bust 8 criminal gangs in central Hunan

POLICE captured 30 gang members in central Hunan Province last week for various offences, including attacking law enforcement officers, the local Hunan Morning News reported today.
Police in Qidong County of Hengyang City received reports that two local gangs would have an armed showdown on January 31. More than 40 policemen took part in a preemptive action to capture all the gangsters on the morning of January 31. They detained more than 80 people and seized one pistol with five bullets and dozens of knives. Four officers were injured in the action.
Qidong police said they busted altogether eight gangs in the crackdown. An investigation was going on and nine suspects were on the wanted list.
