Police catch suspect in Suzhou baby-snatching case

A two-month-old baby girl who was taken from her home on August 7 has been found and a suspect is in custody, said police in Jinxing Village of Suzhou City.

Police found the girl yesterday in nearby Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province and caught a suspect surnamed Sun. Officers added they are still investigating the case.

The report didn’t say anything about the baby’s condition.

The baby was taken from their home, her father surnamed Zhu told the Modern Express newspaper.

He told the newspaper his wife left the baby’s room to do some chores while she was sleeping. Their 17-year-old son was surfing the Internet in his bedroom at the time. None of them had realized the baby was missing until Zhu returned home around 10:45pm, according to the report.
