Police chief probed as son is held for gang crime
THE son of a senior police officer has been detained for allegedly leading an armed gang to a KTV club in Huangchuan, central Henan Province, killing one customer there and seriously injuring five others last Sunday.
Police have captured nine gang members and four are still in hiding, Huangchuan police said yesterday on their official microblog on Weibo.com.
Peng Feng, the father of the gang's leader, Peng Shuai, has been suspended from his job as the deputy chief of the Huangchuan Public Security Bureau, Chinanews.com said today.
The victim was hacked to death by four armed men for quarreling with the cashier of the Zijingong KTV Club where Peng Shuai was the head of the security department, the victim's brother said online.
The local Communist Party disciplinary commission has begun to probe into the case, Chinanews.com said.
