Police hunt for suspect who escaped detention center

POLICE in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Sunday offered a cash reward for tips or seizure of a suspect who escaped from a detention center in the provincial capital of Harbin on Saturday.

Police said the man ran out of sight of guards while receiving treatment at Wuchang Hospital. The man, 48, was wearing a black jacket and slippers.

No details of his alleged crimes have been given.

Police are offering 20,000 yuan (US$3,100) for tips or capture of the man.
