Police pursues origin of malicious online post
POLICE in eastern Shandong Province are investigating a defamation case in which an online post said an official sued a traffic police for causing his sexual dysfunction after he was fined to have sex with his assistant in a car.
The post, claimed to be a news report in a newspaper that does not exist, said Ban Shudong, head of the highway bureau in Linyi County, was caught having sex with his assistant Zheng Laihua in their car by a patrol police on the night of October 23.
The officer reportedly ordered them out of the car and fined Ban for violating traffic rules. After the perverted punishment, Ban began to suffer impotence and sued the officer for 1 million yuan (US$ 150,130) in compensation, local Modern Express reported today.
The original post under the byline of Wang Chao and Bai Xue has caught hundreds of clicks on Mop.com, a popular Chinese social-networking site since it appeared on Monday.
Ban denounced the post as libel and vowed to sue the poster.
One of Ban's colleagues told reporters that police had started to probe into the case and the libel might be related to personnel changes.
