Police put stigma on dishonest shop

Police in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province put up a notice board in front of a grocery store warning customers of its dishonesty.

Huijia Store is notorious among locals for short-change and many customers have been cheated in this way.

Though police have received numerous reports, they have difficulty collecting evidences and the small sum is not punishable by law, so they could do nothing but put up the warning notice.

The police's action seemed to have worked. After the notice board was erected, fewer people are entering the store.

Police also asked the market administrator to revoke Huijia owner's business license. But the administrator hasn't made any response yet, the paper said.
