Police rescue young victims of pyramid sales
POLICE have rescued 16 victims, all university graduates, who were forced to join a pyramid sales ring in south China's Guangdong Province.
They also caught a woman and a man yesterday who allegedly ran the ring and forced the others to take part by robbing their money and taking nude pictures of them, China News Service reported today.
Police nabbed the ring after a tip from graduate Chen Libing, who said the gang lured him to Shaoguan City last week.
When he saw the other victims and realized the trap, he asked to leave but the bosses beat him up, took 4,000 yuan and photographed him in the nude, the report said.
