Police reward for five missing kids in Zhejiang
POLICE are offering 50,000 yuan (US$7,325) reward for clues after five children disappeared from their small village during the Spring Festival holiday in Zhejiang Province, Beijing Times reported today.
"We've received many tips from the public but none has asked for a ransom," said Cai Xiuming, father of the youngest missing child, seven-year-old Cai Songtao. The five are cousins from Xialuwang, which has 500 residents, and he told the newspaper he suspected they were abducted and sold.
The five children – cousins aged between 13 to seven – went out to play about 2pm last Thursday, and haven't been seen since.
They had no money or mobile phones, and police have taken DNA samples to widen the search, Wang Xiejiao, an official from Tiantai County Police Station, told a press conference yesterday.
