Police seek help to catch killer of 3

POLICE are offering a 10,000 yuan (US$1,518) reward for clues leading to the arrest of a suspect who allegedly killed a woman and her two sons in Hunan Province, Xiaoxiang Morning Herald reported yesterday.

Long Danshan found his wife Wu Weihan and his 11 and eight-year-old sons lying in pools of blood when he came home on February 1 in Hunan's Zhaibei Village.

Long called police and his uncle, who is a doctor. Long's uncle found the three had been stabbed to death. Long soon discovered a half-meter long scabbard outside his house.

Police suspect Long Chunwang, the ex-husband of Long Danshan's sister. They held a grudge against each other over daily disputes. The long running feud turned violent in May 2007 when Long Chunwang assaulted Wu Weihan while Long Danshan was away in Changsha City. Long Danshan rushed back home and called police.

Long Chunwang was furious and ranted about killing Long Danshan's family several times, the report said.

Long Chunwang is at large.

The village government gave Long Danshan 50,000 yuan for the funeral. They also rented a house for him and are providing a 60 yuan daily allowance.
