Police seize drug addict and firearms on highway

AN anti-narcotic squad in Huaihua City, central Hunan Province yesterday found a military pistol and 108 bullets in a Buick car on Highway G60 which connects Shanghai with Kunming in southwest China.
The Italian-made Beretta pistol is a renowned firearm brand, police said, but they didn't reveal the gun's model, the local Xiaoxiang Morning Post reported.
The driver surnamed Qi aroused police suspicion when he began to talk in confused manner to police questions in the road check. Police then found the pistol and two boxes of bullets in the car door pocket, the paper said.
Later, a urine test showed Qi was a drug addict, prompting police to tear up his car in search of drugs, the report said.
Police investigation is still ongoing, according to the report.
