Police track ‘child killer’

POLICE in east China’s Jiangxi Province said they are closing in on Zhang Xiangxi, the man they believe to be responsible for killing two schoolboys and leaving a third in critical condition. Zhang, who is alleged to have attacked the three boys as they walked home from school about 11:45am on Friday, has been traced to the Liukou Township of Guixi City, police said. An 8-year-old died at the scene and a second died later in hospital. The third child, a 6-year-old surnamed Zhang, is in a coma in intensive care. Police have offered a 50,000 yuan (US$8,200) reward for information leading to Zhang’s arrest.
