Policeman held for raping teacher

A POLICEMAN in southwest China's Sichuan Province has been detained for allegedly raping a female teacher after he persuaded her to go to a hotel for what he called a "corporate investigation."

The policeman, Liu, was from Deyang City who allegedly approached the 28-year-old victim at her workplace - a middle school - on Friday, reported the West China Metropolis Daily.

Liu asked her to come with him to answer questions about a fraud case involving her ex-husband. The woman followed Liu to a teahouse where she was met by two other men whom Liu claimed were his colleagues.

The woman said she felt dizzy after drinking tea and asked to leave, but was stopped by the men. Liu allegedly took her to a hotel and raped her. After the attack, Liu questioned her about her ex-husband's background.

The woman called police the next day and Liu was detained shortly afterwards.
