Policeman kills brother over love affair

AN on-duty police captain in Shaanxi Province shot his brother to death yesterday reportedly over his brother's love affair with the captain's ex-wife.

The police officer Li Wei has been detained and his former wife, also surnamed Li, has been taken away by police for questioning, today's Sanqin Metropolis Daily reported.

Li may have killed his brother Li Xiaowei because he was having a love affair with his former wife, the report said.

Li Xiaowei was found dead in a pool of blood yesterday in the stairwell of a residential building in Baoji City's Jintai District where the ex-wife lived.

The killer, Li Wei, waited for police at the scene and surrendered his gun and bullets.

Li Wei divorced his wife last year.
