Pop singer detained for taking drugs

Chinese pop singer Li Daimo has been detained for taking illegal drugs, Beijing police said today.

Police raided an apartment in the capital's Chaoyang District on Monday night and found six people taking drugs, including Li. They also caught two other drug takers in a hotel in Fengtai District.

All eight suspects tested positive for benzedrine, and all admitted they had taken the drug.

Li shot to fame in the reality talent show Voice of China.
