Poppy-crop hunt

BEIJING police have used a helicopter for the first time to hunt for opium poppies being grown on the outskirts of the capital. The helicopter hovered for an hour on Saturday over rugged hills in Yan qing District, about 70 kilometers northwest of the city, transmitting video images back to police headquarters. The first hunt, which lasted about half an hour, found no poppy plantations in the region.
