Pornography purged
CHINESE websites deleted more than 1 billion pornographic and harmful posts last year in a “cleanup operation,” the Cyberspace Administration of China said yesterday. Authorities also closed down about 2,200 sites and 20 million forums, blogs and social media accounts that had spread erotic and illegal content, it said.
Of the 1 billion deleted posts, 220 million were found via the country’s four top portal sites, namely Sina, Sohu, Tencent and Netease.
