Porsche stealer stopped by fatal accident
A MAN who allegedly attempted to steal a Porsche car during a test drive hit a tree and died, Beijing News reported today.
Beijing police said the suspect surnamed Zhang used a fake identification card to register for the test drive of a 1.9-million-yuan Porsche in a local dealership on Monday. Zhang asked a salesman surnamed Zhao to change the seat for him, but he suddenly locked the car door and drove away, leaving Zhao behind.
The man was later found dead in a car accident. Investigation showed the car bumped into a tree and rolled into a ditch. The car with scratches and a distorted roof was sent back to the shop.
