Power company exec arrested
A former senior executive at the state-run China Southern Power Grid has been arrested for suspected bribery, the state prosecutor said yesterday.
Qi Dacai was a vice president and director at the company until he was put under investigation for corruption by the Communist Party in March.
The state prosecutor said its branch in south China’s Guangdong Province had approved the arrest, and that the probe was ongoing. It gave no further details.
China Southern Power Grid is one of several state-owned firms subjected to graft inspections this year. It did not respond to a request for comment.
